You & Jin :: 061910 :: A Weird Fanreport (:
Hey guys! Just got back from Jin’s concert~ I must say… I actually really enjoyed it. (: I guess I’ll write an awkward fanreport. Hopefully that way I’ll start to get back into LJ. XD I’m not very good at this so expect a bit of rambling and useless details.

First off, the set list was as follows:

♪ Christmas Morning
♬ Bass Go Boom
♪ WONDER (with Crystal Kay)
♬ International Party
♪ Adjust the Love
♬ A Page
♬ Paparats
♪ Hey Girl!
[World Dance + some other performance]
♪ Yellow Gold
♬ My MP3
♪ Tipsy Love
I’ve actually never heard many of Jin’s songs so I’m assuming that whatever flashed across the screen was the title of the song. Also, the set list may not be 100% correct, I’m just going off of memory here.

Now let’s start the long rant-y fanreport! :D

Getting there:
I rode with my friend and her sister, who both attended the concert as well. We got there around 3:30, though we ended up wandering for quite some time trying to find where the heck Club Nokia was. LA Live’s maps are just… terrible. On our way to the line we ran into a Jin poster! Naturally, I took a picture of it. We tried to get there early since we just had general admission tickets and wanted to get a good spot of course. When we finally reached the line it was far shorter than I was expecting – a plus for us because it ended up growing later!

The Jin poster that greeted us on our way to the beginning of the line.

I have no clue what this line is for, but from the line for Club Nokia (it's upstairs) people were screaming and rushing to see what this was. I still have no clue what it is. I'm assuming the were selling posters or something?

You can't really tell from this pic,but the line was pretty extensive.

Doors opened at 5 with security at full blast. I was worried that they might take my camera away but surprisingly… they didn’t! Either way, I didn’t really take any pictures or video during the event.

We ended up standing right behind the crew, which is pretty much the closest you can get to see the stage straight on. It kind of sucked having them in front sometimes, but for the most part it was okay. What bothered me the most though was this one crew member that kept taking pictures and video. ):

A picture I took of the stage from our spot using my cellphone. You can see the crew in front of us. Actually, the stage isn't as far as it seems if you ask me.

The concert:
Before the concert… a little past 6 PM there was a long opening act. The two hosts, Juice and Boobie talked for a while, trying to get the crowd riled up. The first performance was done by a 16 year old by the name of Joey Beni. Unlike most Asian guys I know, he looks a lot older than his age. :P I’m not good with dance styles but I’m going to say that he was… popping. And was pretty good at it too! Next came some dance crew that I can’t remember the name of – they were pretty awesome as well.

Finally, at around 6:51 PM the real show begins. Out come the dancers dressed in shiny gold outfits, which seemed more or less like a clash between Johnny’s outfits and Lady Gaga’s clothing. There were also two golden female robots in sunglasses on both sides of the stage. Jin appeared with his (what I like to call) pineapple hair and began the show as if he were a robot. Orgel music played while he robotically moved in place, occasionally quickly shifting position while there was this mechanical sound interrupting. I don’t quite remember the exact words but he welcomed everyone to the concert on “June 19, 3010” (: All futuristic~

And so began the song “Christmas Morning” and the start of a pretty amazing concert.

Bits and pieces that I remember:
Now I don’t remember EVERYTHING for all the songs so I’m just going to add random highlights of things I do remember~

The stage was pretty normal… there were stairs to a second “level” (I don’t know what to call it.) Behind the entire stage was a large screen, reminiscent of what was used in the “Tegomass no Uta” tour, playing various “effects” as well as occasional videos.

For WONDER, they played what I’m assuming is the music video on the large screen. Crystal Kay wasn’t there in person to sing her parts of the song, yet they did include the audio.

The lyrics to “Adjust the Love” are nice~ The lyrics for most songs were displayed on the screens that were on both sides of the venue. What sucked though was that because of the lyrics, only half the screen was able to show the actual footage. Not to mention every once in a while the lyrics were a tad bit too fast to the point where they had already disappeared before they were even sung. Also, it was as if they couldn't decide whether to add lyrics or not. Sometimes the lyrics wouldn't show up until halfway through the song or vice versa. Just a minor complaint though.

Before “Adjust the Love” "A Page" (my bad, I got them mixed up!) there were these “boards” that appeared onto the stage. There were about four of them if I recall correctly. “Jin” was written on them with glow in the dark paint. People behind the boards would move them about on the stage, and every so often they would stick their arms out (which were gloved in the same color as the paint.)

Paparats was a really good song! During the chorus the lights around the stage would go on at full blast.

During “Hey Girl!” the dancers and Jin were pretending to play the guitar. One used the luggage (a prop,) Jin was on his air guitar, and… one guy was joking around and pretended to strum err… Jin’s kyonasu. ;)

After “Hey Girl!” the dancers and Jin all gathered and pretended like they were talking. Behind them on the large screen was the picture of a bar. One by one they would leave to “go to the bar.” The screen would show them each dancing to their seats at the bar. Once they all left… loud fangirl screams could be heard behind us at the club’s actual bar. Jin had actually come to the bar! (How many times have I said "bar" already?) I weaved my way through and managed to get to the front of the crowd, though the security guards tried to push me back. Jin was so close - only about 3 to 5 feet away! (: Some people with drinks actually got to go in with him. Still, it was pretty cool to see the man up close even if I’m not a big fan. ^^ I guess there was a plus side to getting the cheapest tickets after all~ haha

This was followed by a roughly 15 minute intermission.

Next was “World Dance” – which was a lot of different styles of dances like “Pop Dance” and “Hip Hop Dance.” My favorite would have to be the “Screen Dance” though. Jin and two other dancers wore white jumpsuits and various things were projected onto their suits – such as them looking as if they were on fire or even wearing speedos. It was really cool all in all.

This was all followed by a really awesome performance of some other dances. I’m not sure if there’s an actual name for this but it was all ~traditional~ in a way. My friend said it was like the “changing masks” or something in China. Jin wore some mask and would constantly take them off to reveal a different colored mask underneath. Meanwhile, some pretty epic music played while a bunch of different kana appeared on the large screen. I really enjoyed this whole part of the concert.

After those performances came “Yellow Gold” … where everyone wore, you guessed it, “yellow gold.”

“My MP3”!! Finally! I like this song quite a bit.

During “Tispy Love,” a giant “bubble” came on stage. Actually, it looked kind of like an inflatable snow globe. Lights were projected onto it to make it look like the world spinning on its axis. (: This song is adorable!

Sadly, no encore. D: I think it was a pretty good concert though. Then again, it was one of my first so I can’t really compare it to others except… Morning Musume and a few minutes of the Black Eyed Peas. XD

The bar changed colors! I took a panoramic picture of the venue (with my sexy new cameraaa) and you can see that it started to change colors near the end~ :D

I had a turkey sandwich because my friend was starving. It was simple… Just a croissant with lots of turkey and some swiss cheese. But it was surprisingly delicious. Well, for $9 it better be.

Good job Jin. I actually enjoyed it.

The setlist seems small, but then again I suppose it would be.

Wow, like 3-5 ft always, thats pretty awesome even if your not a big fan xD

& because Jin himself said that you should expect *~senxiness~* wsa there sexyness~? haha

Also, I totally get the pineapple hair thing (Thats what i call it to xD)

XD Yes it was a lot of fun! I'm trying to use this post as an excuse to get back to LJ. I haven't been on in aaaaaaggeess D;

I was really disappointed that he only sang 3 more songs after the intermission! D: The setlist is pretty small but there was quite a bit of dancing for that "World Dance" part which I guess made it longer.

I felt bad for trying to squeeze to the front though! D: My friend couldn't bypass the amazing amount of fangirls to join me. ><

Hmm well I guess there was some ~sexiness~. During some songs he'd feel up some girls nearly kiss them. Nothing as bad as this though... which I'm quite grateful for. XD

Yes! I'm not the only one. I don't know how to describe it otherwise ;;

Ugh that would've been so awkward if he did! I know I heard a couple girls screaming every time he just touched one of the female dancers lightly... what more if he did all this other stuff. x__x ;;

You're welcome~ ^^

It was crazy! There were even some guys trying to squeeze and get closer to him. |D It's so cute...

Yeah, cameras weren't allowed. D: In line, I saw some security guy collecting them and others constantly shouting to leave our cameras in our car. I just got a new camera that day so I was paranoid of giving it to someone and I didn't bring my car so I just hid my camera in my bag. I think the security people saw it but they didn't really care. They do care if you take pictures or video though - that is, if you get caught. I was standing right next to a security guard though so I never had the chance to try and take anything. >
